What’s new
- Your license covers two Macs at a time. Use Tansei on a laptop and a desktop with one license.
- Moving to a new Mac is quicker. When we move your license, Tansei picks it up while it’s open. Paste your key again to pick it up right away.

Passwords stay hidden. If copied text looks like a password, Tansei hides it and removes it after five minutes unless you pin it. If it isn’t a password, right-click it and choose Stop Hiding.1.5.4
Hide the Dock icon. Turn off Show Tansei in the Dock in Settings → General. You can still open Tansei from the menu bar or with ⌥T.1.5.4
Copy colors in different formats. Right-click a color → Copy As, then choose HEX, RGB, HSL, SwiftUI Color, and more.1.5.4
Passwords stay off your shelf. Copies from Apple Passwords, 1Password and other password managers are no longer saved.1.5.3
Moving to a new Mac. If your license is still active on your old Mac, choose Ask us to move it.1.5.3
Record with sound. Capture → Record Screen with Audio, then choose your voice, system sound, or both.1.5.2
Know when you’re recording. A 3-2-1 countdown starts the recording. The border is red while recording and amber while paused, with a REC timer in the menu bar.1.5.2
View the transcript. Right-click a recording → View transcript. Click a line to jump to that point, search what was said, or edit the transcript.1.5.2
Choose a display. Hover over a display in the Capture menu to highlight that screen.1.5.2
Smoother setup. If you open Tansei from Downloads, it now offers to move itself to Applications. That’s the recommended place for Mac apps and helps permissions and updates work reliably.1.5.1
Record your screen with your voice. Camera icon (Capture) → Record Screen with Voice. Your screen and your voice land in one file.1.5.0
Transcripts, on your Mac. Right-click a saved recording → View transcript. Then read, copy, or save it.1.5.0
Grid view, improved. Expanded view → grid icon. Grid now works like the other views: drag items out, select several, and move through them with the arrow keys.1.5.0

Move a file off the shelf. Hold Option while dragging a file out to remove it from the shelf. Drag normally to keep it, and Cmd+Z to undo.1.4.4
You choose the text size, and everything keeps up. In Settings, under Shelf: Default, Large, or Larger.1.4.3
Choose what gets saved automatically. Automatic saving can now be set per type: links, images, and plain text each get their own switch.1.4.2
Settings, made simpler. Settings is now split into General, Capture, and Shelf, with clearer explanations and switches that show their current state as soon as you open it.1.4.2
More room to write. A note now uses the whole shelf instead of a small box inside it. A slim shelf widens while you write, then folds back when you finish.1.4.1

A slim rail, by dragging it narrower. Drag the shelf’s edge in and it folds to a slim, single-menu layout. Each monitor remembers its own width, and the shelf follows macOS’s Increase Contrast setting.1.4.0

Choose which display to record or capture. With more than one display, Record Screen and Capture Whole Screen now ask which one you want.1.1.2
Images keep their original colors. Some images looked washed out when dragged or pasted into other apps. Images are now kept in the colors they arrived with, and any already on your shelf are repaired automatically.1.1.1
Small improvements. Images dragged to Finder now keep a readable file name. TIFF and HEIC files now land on the shelf as images.1.1.1
Extract text from images. Copy the text out of any image, using Apple Vision. Right-click an image, or use the text button in the Library inspector.1.1.0
Copy as Markdown. Turn formatted text into clean Markdown. Works with web pages, AI responses, lists, code blocks, and more. Right-click any text item and choose Markdown → Copy as Markdown, or save it as an .md file.1.1.0

What’s new
- Passwords copied from your password manager are never saved to your shelf.
- Items that look like passwords now stay hidden everywhere in the app. Right-click one to show it, or to tell Tansei it is not a password.
- Colors keep the exact format you copied, and rgb() and hsl() values are now recognized as colors.
- Right-click a color to copy it as hex, RGB, HSL, or a C# color.

Hiding the shelf now leaves nothing behind. On some PCs the shelf’s background stayed on your desktop after you hid it, so you were left with the shape of the panel and nothing in it. It is gone now, in every theme and on every screen.1.2.1
