Local by design
Your shelf lives entirely on your Mac.
Nothing is uploaded to Tansei's servers. Items are stored as-is, just like files in Finder or notes in Apple Notes.
No account required
Tansei does not require sign-in.
You can use the app without creating a profile or sharing an email address.
No app analytics
The Tansei app does not include analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking.
Deleting items
When you delete something from Tansei, it is removed from your shelf.
Clearing history or emptying the archive permanently removes managed items and cannot be undone.
Permissions
Tansei only asks for macOS permissions when a feature needs them.
You can manage or revoke permissions at any time in System Settings.
Purchases
Payments are handled securely by Stripe, our payment processor.
We do not see or store your card details.
Website
Page views may be measured with cookieless analytics — no cookies, no profiles, no cross-site tracking.
We use Resend to send license keys, downloads, waitlist updates, trial emails, purchase confirmations, and replies.
We keep your email only to provide these services and send occasional product updates. You can unsubscribe or ask us to remove your email at any time by contacting hello@tansei.io.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell your information or use it for advertising.
