Terms of Service

Each license is for one person: you, or the person you bought it for, for personal or work use. A license from tansei.io works on up to two computers at a time. Mac and Windows are separate purchases.

Changing computers? Email hello@tansei.io and we’ll move your license. We may decline frequent requests.

Please don’t share, sell, or post your license key. Shared keys are switched off.

Mac App Store purchases follow Apple’s terms and are tied to your Apple Account. Windows installs come from the Microsoft Store and unlock with a license key bought here.

You may not resell, redistribute, copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where permitted by law.

Tansei is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Updates are free.

If something is genuinely wrong, email hello@tansei.io and we’ll make it right, including a refund. Other refunds are at our discretion. A refunded or charged-back purchase switches off its license key.

You get Tansei the moment you buy, so you agree the EU and UK 14-day cancellation right for digital content does not apply. Nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or other consumer laws. Mac App Store refunds are handled by Apple.

Your content belongs to you.

Items you add to Tansei stay on your computer. We do not access, transmit, or claim ownership of your text, links, files, images, notes, snippets, or other saved items.

Tansei is designed to keep your shelf local and private.

We may release updates to improve performance, add features, fix issues, or maintain compatibility with macOS and Windows.

Some features may change over time.

Apart from the guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law and other consumer laws, which can’t be excluded, Tansei is provided “as is” and “as available.”

We work to make it reliable, but we do not guarantee that it will always be error-free, uninterrupted, or available for every use case.

To the extent permitted by law, Tansei and its creators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app.

We may update these Terms from time to time.

If we make changes, we will update the date above. Continued use of Tansei after the Terms change means you accept the updated Terms. Changes never take away anything you have already paid for.
